Happy New Year’s Eve Eve!
So are you ready to call it a year? Personally, I’m not sure yet. I have really high hopes for this coming year so I’m kind of excited to get to it, but then there’s always that tiny feeling that you didn’t get something really important done (try an entire New Year’s resolution list fail!), you know what I mean?
I did a lot of things that I wasn’t planning this year though. I met some really great new friends, got to spend some time with old friends (and family) that I don’t usually see, I completed my annual gingerbread house with no casualties to speak of, and I spent a record amount of time making messes. I also got to see a volcanic eruption from our back porch! Oh, and there was that time I made food look like roadkill (see the end of the post). Speaking of things accomplished this year, did you get your family Christmas pictures done? We have gotten so bad about this, the last few years we’ve waited until the last-minute, then this year and the previous we haven’t done it until after the year’s over. Next year I think I need to do something to make sure they get done before Christmas like they’re supposed to be. I might even put it on my entirely pointless resolution list.
Anyway, this is the day of the year where I share the greatest hits. This is a round-up of the most popular posts from this year. It’s a little more predictable than last year’s list, but I still find some of these a little surprising to have made it to the top. I mean, did you guys see my cookie shots or do you know that I made crud muffins a thing? Although, the maple bars, those were WOW, and the white chocolate truffle cookies, I think they’re my personal favorite cookies I’ve made to date. It seems you’re all getting better at judging from the cover, keep it up.
So starting from the last but not least, here are the recipes that you guys have loved the most this year (*Dim the lights and drumroll please…….)

Before the year’s over I thought I’d share a pic or two of Sophie’s b-day cake that I kept forgetting to post in October……
…and since I just feel like we need a blooper reel or something here’s a pic of my bleedin’ armadilla cake that I made during one of my more random mood swings. An attempt to replicate the one from the southern classic, Steel Magnolias
Happy New Year guys!!!

What a delicious year it has been!
