Ice Cream Topping Bar in Cupcake Pan

12 Flares 12 Flares ×

We got a new ice cream maker and I am so excited to start making and posting all kinds of recipes with it. Ice cream, sherbet, frozen yogurt, sorbet, and whatever else I can freeze. Unfortunately, I have not had much time yet to try many recipes or learn the machine, but I will definitely be posting some asap. I did try one recipe last night and it wasn’t quite what I wanted but I thought it would be fun to do a topping bar because, while we were in Santiago, we had so much fun getting frozen yogurts and ice creams at the self serve places in the mall that have the huge topping bars. My little sibs still had fun testing the ice cream that I made with all the toppings even if it wasn’t a great recipe. There are so many different kinds of toppings that you could use for a topping bar. In these photos I used: shredded coconut, semi-sweet chocolate chunks, white chocolate chunks, fruit gummies, chocolate sprinkles, and colored sprinkles. Some other ideas for toppings:

  • mini marshmallows

  • m&ms and chopped candy bar pieces

  • cookie or brownie crumbles

  • fruit and berries

  • nuts (maybe chocolate covered)

  • any small candy pieces
  • whipped cream

You can also do syrups and sauces like:

  • hot fudge

  • chocolate syrup

  • caramel

  • fruit syrups and jelly (even maple syrup for fall) IMG_6487-5

The possibilities are pretty endless and it is so much fun for kids. What toppings do you like?
