I am up to my sneaky tricks again. I made this “milkshake” for the kiddos and added a secret ingredient to add color and make it creamy at the same time and they never suspected a thing. You can probably guess what that ingredient is.
That’s right, avacado. I know it sounds gross but you really can’t taste it. My little brothers hate avocados and would never get close to this smoothie if they knew what it contained. Luckily they didn’t find out and said it was really good. When you compare this with most milkshakes, it is a much lighter and healthier treat. This was a great way to use up some ripe avacados. I never thought of using avocados…great idea. For fruit smoothies, we add fresh spinach and it actually makes it sweeter…another “sneak it in” item that nobody knows about when consuming. 🙂
Great idea.
These look great! Any tips for making them low-carb?
Thanks!
If I were making this recipe low carb I would; replace the yogurt with cream, the milk with almond milk or water, the sugar with stevia (or other natural, sugar free sweetener) to taste, and use sugar-free chocolate chips. I hope this helps!
