Moroccan Chicken & Sweet Potato Gyros with Homemade Pitas and Red Cabbage Slaw
Anyone feel like a little trip to Morroco?
Growing up, my family frequently vacationed at Walt Disney World. I remember how much fun it was to go to EPCOT and feel like you went around the world in one day. That is about the extent of my childhood traveling experiences.
A large percentage of capturing the feeling of a culture is the food. A simple combination of ingredients can transport you to such exciting places. I loved tasting all the different international foods around World Showcase.
We are a tiny bit further from Orlando than we used to be and a real trip around the world in one day seems a little unlikely. My alternative was to make my own EPCOT experience at home.
I did my little name trick again with this recipe. As far as my siblings are concerned, these are Aladdin chicken tacos and they loved them. They seemed to go for the whole idea, though I couldn’t get the boys to eat the cabbage. They claim that they have allergies to vegetables. I think that the slaw is one of the best parts. I am a big fan of red cabbage.
