Hey again, I hope you’re having a great day so far.
Anyone feel like a milkshake? What if it’s a good-for-you milkshake made with just a few ingredients???
In case you missed my recent posts you may not have caught when I mentioned I’m planning for a trip I’m taking soon. Well, it’s getting closer to crunch time so I’m trying to make sure that I get everything done and packed in time. I’d be lying if I said this hasn’t been a huge distraction from my typical blogging/cooking schedule so that means some of my recent recipes have been total last-minute decisions. This one, for example, is just something that sounded like a delicious idea and I made for one of the recent birthdays in my family. We’ve had a lot of birthdays recently. In fact, April is a month full of birthdays around here so this past week there have already been 2. I know, that’s a lot for one week, right? #BigFamilyProblems
Today is really gloomy out because it’s pouring and the wind is crazy. Omg, it got really crazy earlier. I forgot to latch my window and somehow the strength of the wind completely pulled it open and slammed my door shut. It really surprised me too, because honestly I sometimes have a hard time opening this window. It’s one of those types that you have to push it and it lifts out. So yeah, wow. My floor is still drying.
Anyway though, this shake is a little quickie that I wanted to share. At first I was mentally criticizing myself for not being more organized and only sharing this childishly simple recipe today. However, then I realized that you guys have busy lives too so you’re probably all over the easiness of this date shake as much as I am.
It’s the perfect thing when you’re in the mood for a little ice cream or even those emergencies when you’re majorly craving that big-as-yo-face! milkshake (you know it happens). Basically it’s just an extra creamy and decadent smoothie and the bulk of it consists of good things like coconut milk, frozen bananas, and of course dates! But speaking of the frozen bananas, you’re definitely going to want to use frozen if you want the thickest and most indulgent feeling shake possible. You could even throw the date in the freezer for a bit if you want it that much colder.
Other than that, this is just so fast and simple. With all the sweetness from the dates and nanners you may even find that it’s sweet enough without adding any additional sweetness so you can try it without first and then adjust it to your taste. I’d love to know what you think or any fun variations you might do so if you try it please feel free to tag me or let me know in the comments!
Craving a milkshake but you know it’s probably not the best option? Try this date shake made with just a few simple (and healthy) ingredients and it’s so fast! (Vegan+GF).
