Eggnog Latte (Starbucks Copycat)

eggnog-latte-starbucks-copycat Because what better way to start the week, right?

eggnog-latte-starbucks-copycat-2 And especially this time of year. I mean, it’s December, everything’s getting all Christmasy, and Baby, it’s cold outside….(for some of you anyway.) #nofair #southpoleelfnow #dreamingofawhitechristmas

eggnog-latte-starbucks-copycat1 In case you haven’t been around before to know this already, I live in the southern hemisphere which means it’s getting hotter here as we’re approaching our summer season. It actually hasn’t been very hot yet though. It’s been surprisingly cold and rainy recently and I’m on the fence about how to feel about that ’cause I’m tired of being cold but I love that it feels more like the Holidays. Hmph, I can’t decide. Either way I know I’m in the mood for lattes! What about you? Ha, as if!

eggnog-latte-starbucks-copycat Okay I admit it, I’ve slowly been becoming a coffee addict over the past year(ish) and now I think there is a distinct possibility that I’ll end up being one of those people who can’t function without it someday. This is something that would probably bother me more, depress me even, if I wasn’t currently buzzed on the Joe. Instead I’m rationalizing that I’d never want to exist in a world without it anyway so why worry about it? But yeah, I really love the stuff.

eggnog-latte-starbucks-copycat-8 I always feel a little lazy when I’m sharing recipes for lattes and things like this because they’re so fast and simple it hardly counts as a recipe. On the other hand, I used homemade eggnog so that adds a little bit more complexity if you wanna try that too. Otherwise though, these takes about 5 minutes once you’ve made them once or twice, but probably closer to 10 the first time.

eggnog-latte-starbucks-copycat2 I honestly think even those of you who hate eggnog alone could still fall in love with a steaming hot mug of this ultimately festive morning sip! In the past I wasn’t a fan of eggnog myself, solely based on the name sounding gross, but then I tried it and realized that it was basically nutmeg infused melted ice cream and I was 100% sold from then on. I’ve been making it myself the last few years because it’s not something you can buy in Chile and it’s also way better. Oh, and did you know it’s an amazing thing to use as an ingredient? A fact proven by these pancakes and this cake, and this hot chocolate!

eggnog-latte-starbucks-copycat-9 So I think I’m going to shock you all and cut out here to keep things short today since we probably all have lots to do and very little time to do it in. Besides, I’ve already told you how easy these lattes are and how to do them, so it’s like what else is there to say???

I’ve never tried an eggnog latte before (I’m not even sure that they have them in the Netherlands) but I love the presentation and you can’t go wrong with those ingredients! Two years ago I was in Australia until right before Christmas – it’s soooo weird to wear shorts and dresses and then see fake snow & holiday decorations. It’s just not right!
    Have a great week!

Haha Im a southerner too and all I want is snow and rain and gray skies. The mercury is going to push well into the 30’s today so I want this but maybe over ice haha. Gorgeous christmas lattes are my jam 🙂

I’m so happy to have found your recipe! I have to admit I never go to Starbucks. I’m the clueless friend who has no idea what a mocha latte taste like. My husband on a whim brought me an Eggnog latte a few Saturdays ago and I loved it! I’m so glad that I can recreate it at home. Thank you!!!

It’s still so crazy to me that it’s getting warmer and more holiday-like for you all at the same time! It’s pretty cold here (though, I have to admit, it’s probably the warmest place in the US haha) so I could use a mug of this!
